Passwords are the weakest link in most businesses' security. They get reused across services, forgotten at the worst possible moment, and phished by increasingly convincing fake login pages. If your booking calendar holds client names, contact details, and appointment histories, the way you sign in matters.
That's why we're happy to announce that CozyCal now supports passkeys — a modern, passwordless way to sign in to your account.
What's a passkey?
A passkey replaces your password with a cryptographic key pair stored on your device. When you sign in, your device proves it holds the key by asking for the same unlock method you already use:
- Face ID or Touch ID on Apple devices
- Windows Hello on Windows
- A password manager like 1Password, iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, or Bitwarden
- A hardware security key like a YubiKey
There's nothing to remember and nothing to type. And because the private key never leaves your device — CozyCal's servers only store the public half — there's no shared secret that can be phished, guessed, or exposed in a breach. A fake "CozyCal login page" simply can't trick a passkey: it only works on the real site.
Why this matters for your business
Many CozyCal customers are law firms, health and wellness practices, and consultants who handle sensitive client information. For these businesses, account security isn't a nice-to-have:
- Phishing-resistant by design. Passkeys are bound to cozycal.com, so credential-stealing emails and look-alike sites don't work against them.
- No password reuse risk. A breach at another service can't expose your CozyCal account, because there's no password to reuse.
- Faster sign-in for your whole team. One glance or touch and you're in — no more reset emails when someone forgets their password.

How to get started
If you already have a CozyCal account:
- Sign in and go to Settings → Passkeys
- Click Add a passkey and follow your device's prompt (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or your password manager)
- Next time you sign in, choose Sign in with a passkey
If you're new to CozyCal:
Choose Sign up with a passkey on the signup page and you can create your account without ever setting a password.
You can register multiple passkeys per account — one per device, for example — and remove any of them from settings at any time. Your existing password and Google/Microsoft sign-in keep working alongside passkeys, so there's no risk in trying it out.
A small step that's worth taking
Setting up a passkey takes under a minute, and it's the single easiest security upgrade you can make to your scheduling account. Give it a try the next time you sign in.
